Wow, that was one long weekend...

Maybe it's a bad idea to bring up long weekends around the new juniors, still weak from unloading our furniture. The neophytes are probably getting homesick right about now... reminding them collectively of their five week prison sentence could be catastrophic. The wreckage from the stampede to call home might crumble the foundation. So... if you're a junior, stop reading.

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, I'd just like to report that I'm pleased with the status of the weekend vacations. See, every long weekend seems longer to me. Admin has struck gold in their long weekend assignments.

The first long weekend was so unexpectedly long. Something about a hurricane? We had four days off! I, for some reason, spent a lot of it reading.

The second long weekend was only a couple of days... but it didn't matter. I hadn't discovered the sublime truth of what long weekends are really used for... I, for some reason, used this one to catch up on homework.

I had yet to learn that the way to spend long weekends was unconscious... one can measure the length of a weekend by how much sleep one managed to get.

We had a Thanksgiving vacation... a Christmas vacation... an Easter vacation... the weekends just kept getting longer, and I learned that I can go entire months without sleep merely by catching up on long weekends. This skill was useful during exam week.

I'd like to compliment Admin on a job well done. This last weekend was great... I had enough time to get what felt like around three months of sleep! No exaggeration! It was great!

Keep it up, Admin. The long weekends are longer than ever. I can't wait for the next.

But I need to ask a question. What's this everyone keeps saying about research?

Don't we do that during the summer?
