RLFUF
Someone made a point by suggesting that one use "FRL" rather than the infamous "FA". Before we abandon this, (although I doubt you would) we should be reminded that FA does have a long history and it's an easy way to sum up a lot of anger. I guess it serves as a bit of a rallying symbol too. I, however, believe the situation of this school to be hopeless and propose AFUF, or to be more correct RLFUF. This would point out that we never had a chance to truly screw anyone, and A or RL "got" Us First. I've had some fun wearing kilts and showing why some rules are stupid. But this year reslife has more power than a Duracell on crack and I don't think any student is going to be able to wrestle it away (although your parents do have that power, my little ones). I guess the attitude now is screw academics, I just came here to follow rules. It's not that we really have a lot of rules, but rather that a few get in the way, and more are always being made. I'm looking at a 48 during interim and at least five of my six writeups are from lights out or a dirty room. You can throw away the hand book, admin isn't bound to anything in there. Punishments aren't set and can be expanded to anything (but it's funny that i've never heard of anyone receiving a 10:30 o'clock or half hour work detail). One of our seniors, Joe, said that at one point when she was here you could throw away writeups and never have to see anyone, forget about 48's. Some of you know of someone last year who was able to sign out to applebee's during a 48. The RA's this year are much too watchful to let that pass. there's christmas lights, happy hour, cinder blocks, lofts, no ten percent, 1:00 lights out, no lights out, etc. i'm betting furniture is the next thing to go. maybe our great grand juniors will have their eyes light up at 10:00 for happy five minutes. we've already seen them try to push weekend curfew back to 10:00. Should i even bring up the fact that the seniors here have more experience living in a dorm than one of our RA's? Does anyone here have a list of the school's sponsors? Well, it's been nice ranting with you, at least the begining had a bit of structure. But now it's time to go visit with the sand paper. Remember kids, be in bed by 9:30, floss, wash, tumble dry low. -Olaf Prot |
