Note to Self

You're pumping life for meaning. You're looking for an extreme. You're happy, though. You're well fed, well provided for. Maybe it's because you're not content while you're on the up-and-up that you believe the cure is a sharp downturn. When a body, your body, is moving at constant velocity, the net force acting on you is zero. You need a rollercoaster drop to wake yourself up. The easiest force to remove is the one holding you up, which allows gravity to take over. (It's the path of least resistance.) This may be that "cry for help" all the television psychologists talk about. You may be expecting a sudden upturn after the drop because that's what you're raised to expect. As you develop, your parents didn't let you completely fall in your wrongdoings. They caught you and set you straight, but not until after just a little drop, to "teach you" to fear the wrong. Instead, it taught you to use the wrong to get the mental high for which you've been engineered.

I suppose this is where Christianity flips your world around. With your brand-spankin' new Will, you desire to conform to Christ. Up is where you gravitate towards. You no longer need "rules" or a structure to keep you from falling. The knowledge of what was right that was once a burden on your back is now pulling you closer and closer Up.

If Righteousness is now the path of least resistance, how do we sin? Imagine the burden of knowledge comparison again. It's exactly the same, but completely opposite. The structure of Bad, made of planks of peer pressure and clamped with Covetousness, is locking you down, but there, there in your hands... What is that object? Amazing! it's the Biggest Cliché Metaphor Ever. You have the Key. This key is pride. Will you let it go to save yourself? Or do you find it too beautiful?
