Dear Applicant:

It is our great pleasure to inform you that you have successfully passed the 2nd stage of the screening process for the 2004 JET Program year and are now on the final short-list for ALT/CIR candidates. You are now scheduled for placement in a Contracting Organization, which is possible in almost all cases.

After reading the Program Notes attached, you are requested to confirm your acceptance (or non-acceptance) of the short-list candidacy by returning the attached Reply Form with two passport photos attached and your Certificate of Health no later than April 26, 2004, after which placement in a Contracting Organization will proceed. For your safety, we recommend that you send your documents by priority or certified mail. Failure to return the Reply Form by the deadline will disqualify you for this year’s program. If you accept, please list your full contact information including all applicable information such as zip codes, telephone numbers, an e-mail address, fax number and daytime contact information.

In May, after a Contracting Organization has been selected, you will be informed of the final selection result with the name of the prefecture or designated city to which you are assigned. Every effort will be made to satisfy your posting preferences for placement. However, because of the limited number of positions available in each area, please understand that in many cases this will not always be possible.

If you intend to drive a car in Japan, please obtain an international driver’s license before leaving for Japan.

From now on, all questions or other communications should be directed to the JET Program Office at the address shown at the bottom of this email or via email to jet@cgjapanatlanta.org.

Sincerely yours,

Jessica Kennett Cork
